This 200-hour YTT is designed for aspiring yoga teachers, and others who wish to simply deepen their practice and broaden their understanding of yoga. A unique part of this program is the field trips to temples, beaches, monasteries, and specialized class offerings outside the standard curriculum.

The 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is a non-dogmatic approach of classical and contemporary techniques taken from the best major systems today. The curriculum will empower you with all the principles necessary to teach uplifting, educated, and skilled yoga classes. You will learn the latest terms and language for clear communication between you and your students. There is instruction in gentle restorative yoga, classical Hatha Yoga, as well as Vinyasa Flow Yoga. You will gain a new sense of Self while deepening your understanding of asana, alignment, history, philosophy, and spiritual connection. Included are field trips to temples, beaches, monasteries, Sanskrit module, business module, and specialized class offerings outside the standard curriculum.
We, at Light and Love Yoga recognize our responsibility for maintaining our excellent reputation for high standards. Teaching certification is awarded on the basis of successful comprehension and mastery of the principles and practice of Yoga and how you communicate them to others. If, for any reason, a student isn’t eligible for certification upon completion of the program, opportunities for achieving success will be given ~ usually with at-home study.
This program offers exactly what you desire. Anyone sincerely interested in Yoga is welcome to enroll in order to deepen your own practice and to gain knowledge, with or without the desire for certification.
With Light and Love Yoga’s Certification you will be able to offer private yoga sessions, do yoga with friends and family, or own/work in a studio, fitness center, or health club. To become a professional Yoga instructor or yogi, comprehensive training is necessary. Our training is eclectic, uplifting, and based on years of personal experience as well as study with recognized great teachers. Our passion is to inspire you to always loving and learning!
Light and Love Yoga Teacher Training School meets all the requirements and is approved by the Yoga Alliance for the RYT 200 certificate and the RYT 500 certificate. We are a Yoga Alliance Registered School.
The training is an in-depth study course that includes 15 weeks of comprehensive class time, student teaching opportunities, individual and personalized study time, creative field trips, guest speakers and instructors, and directed homework.
- Asana Practice: Alignment, adjustment, sequencing, benefits, and modification.
- Anatomy and Physiology: Injury prevention with applied knowledge of joints, muscles, and organs.
- Business of Yoga: How to organize and set up your yoga business.
- Chakra Awareness & Development: To use with asana practice, meditation, and developing whole health.
- Kirtan: Traditional yogic music, chanting, call and response.
- Living Your Yoga
- Meditation: Self-directed, guided, other.
- Pranayama: Breathing techniques, Life Force awareness.
- Philosophy and History of Yoga: Ancient, modern, including styles and types. Deepened study of 8 limbs, sutras by Pantanjali, Bhaghavad Gita, Buddha.
- Restorative Yoga: To reduce stress, restore the body, mind, & spirit.
- Teaching Methodology: Ethics, safety, qualities of a yoga teacher, how to teach.
Scheduled Class Time: Includes featured guest speakers and instructors, field trips, lectures, asana dissemination of poses, adjustments, alignments, assisting with teacher and peer supervision, in-depth yoga philosophy, opportunities for practice teaching, asana practice, meditation, pranayama, spiritual dimension of yoga, and open discussion time.
Directed Homework: Includes reading, journaling, asana practice, pranayama practice, meditation, practice teaching, self-discovery, and opportunities to teach for “love offering” classes.
Practice teaching is not required if you are taking the program solely to deepen your own yoga path without certification. Other opportunities will be offered that will help you, individually, gain a clearer and more balanced practice.
Yoga Alliance Registry
This 200 hour in-depth classic Hatha Yoga Training will make you eligible for the Yoga Alliance Registry.
